Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has put the police, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and other agencies on alert ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the state on Saturday for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally.

The rally in Lagos will round off the South-West leg of the party’s campaign ahead of the February 16 presidential election.

A source close to the governor told Qed.ng that a special committee has been established to oversee a seamless visit of the President.

The source said the state Commissioner For Transport, Ladi Lawanson, has been appointed the head of the committee. He will be assited by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation.

According to an itinerary made available to Qed.ng, Mr Buhari on arrival at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, will head to the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, before moving to the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, for his presidential rally.

The source added that the weekend was chosen for the rally so as not to disrupt the flow of business in the country’s commercial nerve centre.
