Lagos lawmaker Mojisola Alli-Macaulay (Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1) has failed to pick the ticket of the All Progressives Congress to run for a second term.

The incumbent lost the ticket to Olaitan Folorunso at the APC primary election held on Friday.

Three aspirants, including Adesina Ado, contested the ticket while 20 delegates from four wards voted at the election.

Alli-Macaulay got four votes, Ado also picked four while Folorunso won with 12 votes.

“When we summed up the number of the figures, while Mojisola Alli-Macaulay scored four, Ado Adesina scored four, Folorunso Olaitan scored 12,” returning officer Akintola Falade said.

“By virtue of that, we have Hon. Olaitan Segun Folorunso as winner of the primary election conducted today, May 27, at Amuwo Odofin constituency 1.”

In 2020, Alli-Macaulay faced backlash for saying that most Nigerian youth are always high on drugs. She spoke in the wake of the violence that trailed the #EndSARS protests.
