Ali Baba’s COVID-19 committee calls for contribution from creatives

The COVID-19 creative industry committee set up by the Federal Government to assess the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the creative sector has called for contributions from all creatives in Nigeria.

Comedian, Ali Baba, who heads the committee, made the call in a video he shared on Instagram on Monday and encouraged all concerned to take advantage of the chance to have their voices heard by filling the forms which have been made available by the committee.

The 54-year-old said ’’We have created the forms for all players in the industry to fill… We want to know how coronavirus has affected you individually…’’

He also advised everyone involved to send in their reports by the Monday deadline in order to enable the committee to collate the feedback received.

’’…The links are on my page, go ahead and fill them because we intend to end this by Monday,’’ he added.

According to the Minister of Information, Lai Muhammed who announced the formation of the committee in a Wednesday interview with the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, (BON) the committee will be expected to assess the impact of the pandemic on the industry and suggest suitable taxation and financing measures in order to encourage the growth of the industry

Other members of the committee include actor, Seun Arinze, artiste manager, Efe Omoregbe and movie producer, Charles Novia among others.
