Aisha Lawal greets ‘senior wife’ Moji Afolayan on birthday

Actress Aisha Lawal has celebrated her ‘senior wife ‘ Moji Afolayan on the latter’s birthday.

Aisha and Moji featured in Kunle Afolayan’s Netflix film Anikulapo where they played co-wives to the Alaffin played by actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

Aisha played the role of Sunkanmi, an older wife of the Alaafin who made life unbearable for Olori Arolake played by Bimbo Ademoye due to her jealousy.

Moji on the other hand, played the role of Olori Mojirola, another jealous wife whose daughter fell in love with the lead character named Saro.

To mark her co-wife’s birthday on Friday, Aisha shared a video via Instagram, showing the duo on the set of Anikulapo.

Captioning the video, she wrote: “Happy birthday M.0.J..R.O.LA in s1’s voice Happy birthday mama @mojiafolayan my darling iyale wey no tolerate nonsense emi oga heartbeat daddy mi @ojopagogotv .0n this joyous occasion may God almighty in his infinite mercy continue to be with you, have a fabulous day ma love yah.”

Kunle Afolayan also celebated Moji on Instagram.

He shared a behind the scenes photo of Moji with the caption: “Happy birthday to my beautiful sister “Olori Mojirola @mojiafolayan”Love always.”

The filmmaker had on October 31, revealed that “ANIKULAPO SERIES: Rise of The Specter is currently in post-production, and we’re pouring our heart and soul into crafting intriguing films that stand the test of time.”

Anikulapo is the story of Saro, a traveling clothe weaver, who was beaten to death for having an affair with the Alaafin’s youngest wife named Arolake.

A mystical bird brings him back to life, leaving behind a gourd with the power to raise the dead.

The film also stars Sola Sobowale, Kunle Remi, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Adebayo Salami, Yinka Quadri and Mr Macaroni.

The four part series will featured Gabriel Afolayan, Lateef Adedimeji, Layi Wasabi, Sisi Quadri and Aunty Ramota.

Distributed by Netflix, Anikulapo has an IMDB rating of 5.5.

It got 16 nominations at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCAs) and won five of them including the category of Best Overall Movie in Africa.

It also won the award for Best Overall Film at the just concluded Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).
