Absent Mikel applauds Super Eagles’ victory over Poland

Mikel Obi

Super Eagles skipper, Mikel Obi, has hailed the team’s impressive win over Poland on Friday.

Nigeria stunned the European nation 1-0 at home, thanks to Victor Moses’ cooly converted spot-kick.

Mikel, who missed the encounter due to work permit issues, was quick to applaud his teammates, particularly his ex-Chelsea colleague.

The Tianjin TEDA star described the Moses’ strike as a “cool finish”, describing the win as “great”.

It is still unclear if Mikel will play any part in Tuesday’s friendly against Serbia in London.

In his absence, William Troost-Ekong was entrusted the armband.
