Big Brother Naija reality star Alex Unusual has consoled Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali on the loss to Cote d’Ivoire at the 2023 AFCON final on Sunday night.

The Elephants came from behind to defeat the Super Eagles 2-1 after trailing in the first half thanks to a William Troost-Ekong header.

Goals from Franck Kessié and Sébastien Haller saw the hosts crawl back to win their third AFCON title.

Reacting to the loss in an Instagram post, Nwabali apologised to Nigerian on behalf of his team, taking full responsibility.

“A disappointing and frustrating end. I deeply apologize to Nigerians. I was once a fan, still a fan and I understand how it feels giving you a disappointing night. We take full responsibility. Thanks for the whole support till the end. I love you all” he wrote.

Alex, however, stated that he did nothing wrong and owes no one an apology.

“Please you didn’t do anything wrong. You owe no one an apology. You disappointed no one. Thank you so much for representing Nigeria,” she wrote in the comment section of the post.
