The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has expanded its operations to the United Arab Emirates with the vision of connecting Africa with The Gulf region.

Group chairman Tony Elumelu, joined by the bank’s group managing director/CEO Kennedy Uzoka and the chief executive officer, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Authority, Arif Amiri, launched UBA Dubai on July 14.

Also in attendance were the board of directors, executive management, CEO of UBA Dubai Vikrant Bhansali and other guests.

“We have been looking forward to this day as it is the first time we will have presence in this part of the world. We know that our international expansion is incomplete if we are not present in the gulf,” Mr Elumelu said.
