3-month-old baby boy dumped in Osun orphanage

Abiye Orphanage Home in the Agowande area of Osogbo, Osun State, has discovered a three-month-old baby boy on its premises.

The baby was found by a man identified as Olamilekan Boluwatife.

A statement by the permanent secretary of Osun State Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, Omolara Ajayi, showed that immediately after the boy was found, the case was reported at the Dugbe Divisional Police Headquarters, Osogbo.

The statement urged members of the public to assist the authorities with the possible identification and location of the biological parents of the child.

Mrs Ajayi called on members of the public to be vigilant and report suspicious persons and their activities to the ministry as well as law enforcement agents.

The case is the second of such to be reported in the last one month in Osun State, as a suspected mentally unstable woman abandoned a day-old baby near a police station in Ilie, Olorunda North local council development area of the state on Sunday, November 25.
