Zambia clash: Akwa Ibom entices fans with free internet

Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo

Super Eagles’ fans will have no issues surfing the internet at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo when they troop to watch the country play Zambia on Saturday.

This comes as the state government has promised to provide supporters of the three-time African champions with free internet service in or around the stadium.

Nigeria will play host to the Chipolopolo in a crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier and the host state has gone out of its way to make it a memorable one for the fans.

According to a statement from the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Sports, Monday Uko, through his media aide, Amos Ebuka, the state government will make available access codes for easy access.

“There will be free internet services available to fans at Goodwill Akpabio stadium during the Nigeria vs. Zambia match sponsored by Kalex Solutions Ltd,” the statement reads.

“Access codes for the free internet will be embedded in a closed panel on seat covers which will be used to cover seats at the stadium.

“Another great innovation by Akwa Ibom State Government and Akwa Ibom State Football Association.”

A victory for Nigeria will confirm their place at the quadrennial showpiece which will be the sixth for the West Africans.
