Nigeria’s Super Eagles have maintained their unbelievable 40-year-old unbeaten record against Senegal with a 1-1 draw at the Hive Stadium, London.

The West African giants haven’t lost to their neighbours since a 3-1 defeat in the 1977 Africa Cup of Nations and they did continue that streak on Thursday.

With the first half ending in a stalemate, the Teranga Lions drew first blood through Moussa Sow in the 53rd minute.

Manchester City youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho, restored parity for the three-time African champions via the spot few minutes to the end of regulation time.

The 20-year-old was fouled in the opposition box and stepped up subsequently to level scores for Gernot Rohr’s team.

It was the young striker’s fifth goal in his last six appearances for the Eagles and 10th in all competitions this season.

The draw with Africa’s top-ranked team, Senegal, ensured Rohr remained undefeated in four games he’s overseen since taking charge in August.

The Franco-German handed second half debuts to strikers, Olarenwaju Kayode and Isaac Success, while skipper, Ogenyi Onazi, suffered an injury blow in the game.

Next up for the Nigerians is a date with Burkina Faso at same venue on Monday.
