Actor Femi Adebayo is celebrating his father and veteran actor Adebayo Salami on his birthday.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Femi shared a photo of the filmmaker alongside a tribute to him.
“To the man that birthed me… my Father, my Mentor, my Leader, my Teacher.
“Dr. Alhaji Adebayo Salami @adebayo.salami. Today, I celebrate you not just for being my father, but for being a pillar in our industry, a fountain of wisdom, and a living legend.
“May Allah (SWT) continue to grant you sound health, unending peace, and light upon light. May your days be long and filled with barakah.
“Oun gbogbo te fi n fara balẹ, ko ni di asan laye yin, Sir.
“You are deeply loved, respected, and celebrated – today and always. Happy Birthday Daddy.”
Popularly known as Oga Bello, Adebayo Salami is regarded as one of the pioneers of the Yoruba film industry. He began acting in the 1960s and became widely known through the television comedy series Comedy Half Hour, where he got the nickname Oga Bello.
The veteran actor has featured in several productions over the years, including Owo Blow, Ayitale, Anikulapo and Seven Doors.
Beyond Femi, some of Adebayo Salami’s children have also established careers in the movie industry. His son Tope Adebayo is a filmmaker and director, while Sodiq Adebayo is also involved in acting and film production.
