Afropop singer, Yemi Alade, has slammed the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, after an audio recording of him describing the Nigerian situation as ‘hopeless’ went viral on social media on saturday.

The 29-year-old criticised Mr Amaechi, who is also the Director-General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation, in a series of tweets on Monday.

“Top Nigerian government officials saying that Nigeria is a hopeless country. Please why do you campaign for Office? Give way to those who still have hope in a better Nigeria,” Yemi wrote in her first tweet.

She continued, “Politicians are all the same, what would it cost to have good roads, good education, good drinking water and stable electricity? You can’t be in POWER forever don’t forget, neither can you carry all the money to your grave.”

An audio recording of Amaechi emerged on Saturday in which the former Rivers State governor was heard complaining that poverty had increased under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari.
