GenevieveNollywood diva, Genevieve Nnaji, is easily one of the most adored women in Nigeria.

Born on May 3, 1979 in Mbaise, Imo State, she is also high on the most beautiful actresses list

Genevieve started her acting career as a child in the then popular soap opera, Ripples, at the age of 8.

She got pregnant with her only child at the age of 17.

In 1998 at the age of 19 she was introduced into the growing Nigerian film industry with the movie Most Wanted. Others in the movie include Liz Benson, Funsho Adeolu, Regina Askia, Ayo Adesanya, Antar Laniyan, Bob Manuel, Wale Macaulay, Bisola Fadayomi, Ibinabo Fiberesima and Jide Alabi.

Since then, she has starred in over 80 Nollywood movies.

Also a singer; she signed a contract with EKB Records, a Ghanaian label in 2004, and released her debut album One Logologo Line, a mix of R&B, hip-hop and Contemporary Urban Music.

The University of Lagos graduate has won the City People Awards for Best Actress (2001) and Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005 among others.

She was dubbed Julia Roberts of Africa by American television mogul, Oprah Winfrey, who interviewed her in 2009.

In 2011, she was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) by the Nigerian government for her contributions to Nollywood.
