Whitemoney appeals to Keyamo over N206,000 airport parking fee issue

Reality TV star Whitemoney has called on the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, after alleging that he was charged N206,000 for four nights of parking at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

Taking to social media on Tuesday, he expressed surprise at the amount and questioned whether the minister was aware of the situation.

He wrote,“What is happening in Lagos local airport oo @festuskeyamo70 are you aware of this sir? Because this is not normal at all oo 50k to park over night is crazy”

In recent discussions around airport operations, parking fees have been reported to have increased in some terminals, with overnight rates said to reach about N50,000 depending on location and vehicle category.

The complaint also comes amid ongoing scrutiny of conduct and service delivery at airports. The Minister of Aviation has previously warned airport staff and stakeholders to maintain discipline in their dealings with passengers and to avoid behaviours such as extortion or soliciting money from travellers, stressing the need for improved passenger experience across Nigeria’s airports.
