West Ham have launched an official £6 million bid for Nigeria winger Victor Moses according to Goal.com.

The Hammers are keen to bolster their attacking options and have earmarked the player, deemed surplus to requirement at Chelsea following the arrival of Pedro from Barcelona, as a possible addition to the squad after.

The 24-year-old will lead a number of key arrivals at Upton park with boss Slaven Bilic keen to add more quality to the squad by strengthening his strike force.

West Ham started with an impressive 2-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, but consecutive defeats at home to Leicester City and Bournemouth prompted the Croatian to consider his options.

By allowing Stewart Downing join former side Middlesbrough in the summer, the club now lacked width and versatility in their attacking approach.

The Nigerian was linked all summer to Stoke City where he made 23 appearances on loan last season but opted to return to parent club Chelsea.

Moses arrived at Stamford Bridge from Wigan Athletic  in 2012, but was loaned to Liverpool the season after and is not thought to be part of Jose Mourinho’s plans for the future.

He was named among the substitute in Chelsea’s first league game of the season against Swansea but missed the club’s last two games with an injury.
