VIDEOS: All set for Subomi Balogun’s burial in Ijebu Ode

The remains of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) founder Subomi Balogun will be buried today (Saturday) in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

Preparations for what is expected to be a grand event began shortly after the billionaire businessman died in London on May 18 at the age of 89.

Videos shared on Instagram by chairman of Ovation Media Group Dele Momodu showed private security personnel, horse riders and others at the deceased’s famous Otunba Tunwase Court in Ijebu.

A funeral service is scheduled to hold at Cathedral Church of Our Saviour in Ijebu Ode before a private interment at his residence, followed by a reception.

Activities held ahead of the final burial included a night of tributes, service of songs and commendation service.

A prominent son of Ijebuland, Balogun held the titles of Otunba Tunwase, Olori Omo-Oba Ijebu, Asiwaju of Ijebu Christians, Baba Oba of Ijebu-Ife and Asalu-Oba of Ijebu Mushin among others.
