Victor Moses inspires Chelsea to victory over PSG

By Udo Toby Prince

Victor MosesNigeria winger Victor Moses is gradually working his way into Jose Mourinho’s plans after scoring for Chelsea against French champions, Paris Saint-Germain, in the International Champions Cup in the USA on Saturday.

The English champions came from behind to defeat Laurent Blanc’s team 6-5 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.

The impressive former Wigan ace started his second pre-season game in row along with international colleague, John Obi Mikel.

But the Nigerian pair endured contrasting fate in the game as both contributed to both goals scored in the game.

Victor Moses scored the leveller in the 65th minute after combining excellently with Cesc Fabregas.  The Spaniard clipped the ball into the box and Moses timed his run brilliantly to ghost in and volley home.

The French giants had earlier gone in front thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s beautiful finish with John Obi Mikel the culprit for the goal.

The midfielder was dispossessed at the edge of his own box after some sloppy play from the Nigerian. He was replaced at the interval by Ramires.

With the game tied at 1-1 after normal time, the match went straight to penalty kick to decide the winner.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made two saves in the shoot-out before thumping home the winning penalty.
