Veteran actor, Festus Aguebor, dies in Benin

Veteran Nigerian actor, Festus Aguebor, passed away in Benin, the Edo State capital on Saturday, February 20.

Movie director, Fidelis Duker, who said he got the information from the septuagenarian’s son made the announcement on his Facebook page on Monday writing.

The former Director Guild of Nigeria (DGN) President wrote: “Adieu talented and veteran Actor Fesyud Aguebor …..remember your brilliant delivery of Chief Odeku in my 2002 movie, Family Contract starring Desmond Elliot, Chioma Akpotha,  Steph-Nora Okere, Afolabi Bolasodun Makinde, Grace Evaly, amongst others …. May your soul rest in peace. Amen(sic).”

Duker however did not disclose the time or cause of death.

Aguebor has starred alongside several top Nigerian actors and have featured in numerous Nollywood productions including Igodo, Oh My Mother, The King and I, Rituals and A Kiss from a Rose.

He left Lagos and relocated to his home state of Edo about four years ago.

Duker told Qed.ng on Monday evening that the deceased’s family was yet to say anything about his funeral.
