Actress Uche Montana has recorded another digital milestone as her latest release Monica 2 amassed over six million views on YouTube less than 24 hours after its premiere.
The sequel generated about 4,403,874 views within its first 15 hours after debuting on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
Uche, who shared a video on Instagram on Sunday, expressed gratitude to her fans for the support.
She captioned, “22 hours ago, we shared a piece of our hearts with the world.
6 million views later… I’m just overwhelmed with gratitude.
To my cast — thank you for showing up, for giving your all, for making this real.”
The first part released about a month earlier had drawn over 18 million views, with the film trending and fans calling for a sequel.
Produced by Uche, who also plays the lead role, the film is an emotional drama that explores the “cost of family first.” It is said to be based on a true story.
The story follows Monica, the eldest daughter in a struggling family of five, and examines parental pressure, the burden placed on first children, sibling conflict and the limits of self sacrifice.
