Olubadan-elect Lekan Balogun

The management of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, has declined to comment on the illness that led to the death of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun.

Spokesperson of the hospital Funmilayo Adetuyibi told NAN on Friday that medics gave the monarch adequate care when he was admitted on Wednesday.

Oba Balogun died on Thursday evening aged 81 following a brief illness.

Adetuyibi said the traditional ruler died in the intensive care unit.

“As everyone knows, the first goal of our hospital is to take care of our patients. Adequate and proper care was given to Oba Balogun during the little time he stayed at the hospital,” she said.
