Tony Elumelu visits Rwanda President, Paul Kagame

Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), Tony Elumelu, has paid a courtesy visit to the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame.

Mr Elumelu visited the Rwandan leader on Friday.

A tweet by the foundation said the visit was to appreciate Mr Kagame for his participation at the recently concluded TEFforum2019.

“Today, our Founder paid a courtesy visit to the president of #Rwanda H.E. @PaulKagame. This visit was to show his appreciation to the President for his participation at the recently concluded #TEFforum2019,” he said.

Elumelu had earlier visited the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, to thank him for his profound contribution at the TEFforum2019.

The forum, the fifth edition, held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja on July 26 to 27 with the theme “Empowering African Entrepreneurs”.

The forum featured panel debates, Presidential Dialogue among others. It also engaged an audience of 5,000 comprising startup entrepreneurs, development institutions and policymakers.

According to the TEF website, about 216,025 applications from entrepreneurs were received in 2019.
