The Nation newspaper’s managing editor, northern operation Yusuf Alli has lost his mother Hawau Yusuf.
He announced her death on Monday, stating that she was buried on Sunday in accordance with Islamic rites.
The deceased was 89 years old.
She is survived by six children, including Abdulhamid, Yusuf, Abdulrahman, Misitura Solih, Afusat and Ismaila.
