Teenager docked for allegedly stealing provisions, printing machine

A 19-year-old artisan, Adeyinka Ademola, on Monday appeared in a  Grade 1 Area Court in Mpape, Abuja, for allegedly stealing provisions and an HP printing machine.

The police charged Ademola, who lives in Mpape, Abuja, with housebreaking and theft.

The Prosecutor, M.M. Austin, told the court that the defendant on Oct. 25, broke into the house of the complainant, Mr Victor Odewole, and also stole a black bag containing different designer men’s sandals.

He said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 346 and 288 of the Penal Code.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Mr Salihu Ibrahim, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000, with one reasonable surety in like sum.

Ibrahim ordered that the surety must live within the court’s jurisdiction.

He adjourned the case until Nov. 11, for hearing.
