AFCON 2017: Oliseh snubs EPL benchwarmers as Emenike returns

Sunday OlisehNigeria Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh, has released a list of 18 foreign pros to execute the forthcoming 2017 Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam according to thenff.com.

The former skipper kept his words by not extending invitation to benchwarmers at club level, with English Premier Leagues (EPL) stars the major victims.

Conspicuously missing are the Chelsea duo of Mikel Obi and Victor Moses.

Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is joined by regulars Ahmed Musa, Godfrey Oboabona, Leon Balogun and Kenneth Omeruo.

Emmanuel Emenike leads the list of returnees to the Eagles set up. The Fenerbahce forward scored a brace at the weekend as his loan team, Al Ain, defeated Al Nasr 4-2 to clinch the UAE Super cup. Other returnees include midfielders Joel Obi, Obiora Nwankwo and Haruna Lukman.

Fresh call-up was handed to Wolves of England goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, and Russia based duo, Sylvester Ogboun and Ernest Ugochukwu.

All 18 invited players are expected in Abuja on Monday, August 31, 2015.

The Super Eagles take on Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, September 5.
