Soludo appoints Dora Akunyili’s son into cabinet

Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has named Obumneme Akunyili, the last son of a former director-general, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) late Prof. Dora Akunyili, as director-general, Project Monitoring Office.

The appointment was announced on Thursday in a statement by the commissioner for information, Paul Nwosu.

Eleven other individuals were appointed into various positions in the state.

Nwosu said the new appointees and their portfolios include special adviser, legislative/state assembly matters, Anayo Nebe; special adviser, political matters, Alex Obiogbolu; special adviser, medicals and pharmaceuticals, Godwin Nnadozie; chairman of governing board, Anambra State Waste Management Authority, Emma Ezenwaji; managing director/CEO, Anambra State Waste Management Authority, Mike Ozoemena; managing director/CEO, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Simeon Onyemaechi.

Others include the managing director/CEO, Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency, Tony Ujubuonu; special adviser, Local Government Affairs, Raphael Nnabuife; managing director, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chido Obidiegwu; managing director, Anambra State Erosion, Watershed and Climate Change Agency, Prof. Phil Phil-Eze; and director-general, Project Monitoring Office; Obumneme Akunyili.
