Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has confronted a US-based Nigerian man named Solomon Idowu who threatened to kill the singer whenever he visits Chicago, USA.

A video of Seun confronting the man at the boarding gate of the Lagos International Airport went viral on the internet on Friday.

In the video, Mr Idowu could be heard threatening to deal with Seun who tried to stop him from leaving the airport.

“Dude I am not from here, I am from America and you just put your hands on me, this is not going to end well for you, don’t make me make phone calls, I am going home,” the man threatened.

“You are not going anywhere,” Seun responded.

Moments after, another video of Idowu apologising to Seun was shared on Instagram, the man said he (Idowu) should be held responsible if anything happened to Seun.

“My name is Solomon Idowu and I am a citizen of Chicago United States, I live in Chicago, if anything happens to Seun in Chicago, I’ll be responsible.
