Seriake Dickson denies involvement in court order stopping APC primary

Bayesla State Governor, Seriake Dickson

Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has denied involvement in an interim order issued by a State High Court sitting in Sagbama, restraining the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from adopting direct primary for its rescheduled August 31 governorship primary.

The governor, in a statement on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media Relations, Fidelis Soriwei, said he does not want to be dragged into the party’s internal problems.

Some aggrieved members of the APC – Japan Christopher, Evinson Oyindeyinfa, Oddu Ovinmiebi and Obiriki Isaiah – had obtained an interim order stopping the party’s primary.

Dickson said his energy was directed at producing a credible candidate that would defeat any candidate presented by the APC in the November 16 governorship election.

He assured that the PDP candidate would run on the record of performance, enthronement of peace and stability.

The governor called on the APC leadership to prepare for an election and not war.
