Segalink to join Sanwo-Olu’s walk for peace

Rights activist Segun Awosanya aka Segalink says he is ready to work with anyone promoting peace.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had called on Segalink, singers Seun Kuti and Falz, skit maker Mr Macaroni and others to join him in a “walk for peace” as one of the steps towards healing over last year’s #EndSARS protests and the Lekki toll gate incident.

But the entertainers rejected Sanwo-Olu’s request, saying justice will come before peace.

Segalink, who was a member of the Lagos State judicial panel of inquiry on the consolidated report on general police brutality cases, told Channels Television on Thursday that he will join in the peace walk.

“Because I am an advocate for peace, justice, equity and fairness, I will walk with anybody who wants peace,” he said.

“There are no absolutes. Because I agree with some people on certain things does not mean I am in alignment with them. So if walk with the governor today, it does not stop me from criticising the governor.”
