Saraki receives motivational messages after losing Senate seat

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has been receiving messages of support after he lost his seat to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibrahim Oloriegbe.

After news of his defeat filtered in on Sunday evening, Nigerians took to Twitter to wish him well in his political career.

The Senate president, however, did not fail to acknowledge the messages of support.

The Returning Officer for the district, Prof. Olatunbosun Owoyomi, announced the official results for Kwara Central Senatorial District on Sunday.

Oloriegbe polled a total of 123,808 votes to defeat Saraki who scored 68,994 votes in the four local governments of Kwara Central.

In Asa local government, Oloriegbe scored 15,932 votes while Saraki scored 11,252 votes.

In Ilorin East local government, Oloriegbe polled 30, 014 votes to Saraki’s 14,654.

In Saraki’s local government, Ilorin West, Oloriegbe polled 51,531 while the Senate president got 30,075 votes.

The APC senatorial candidate also defeated Saraki with 26,331 votes as against 13, 031in Ilorin South.
