Sanwo-Olu’s cousin becomes ‘first Nigerian official’ to visit El Salvador

Jermaine Sanwo-Olu, Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora and Foreign Relations to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reportedly become the first government official from Nigeria to visit  El Salvador.

El Salvador is the smallest and the most densely populated country in Central America. As of 2016, the country had a population of approximately 6.34 million.

In a tweet on Thursday, Mr Sanwo-Olu, a cousin to the governor of Lagos, said it was ‘a great honour’ to be recognised as the first government official from Nigeria to ever visit El Salvador.

He was in El Salvador for the Afro Descendientes Events and Festival.

“It was a great honour to be recognized as the first Government official from Nigeria to ever visit El Salvador. Being part of the Afro Descendientes events & festival in San Salvador & Zacatecoluca, El Salvador is something I will cherish all my life,” Sanwo-Olu said.
