Sanwo-Olu performs ‘legshake’ with Hamzat at new isolation facility

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has performed a ‘legshake’ with his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, at the new facility built to contain infectious diseases including the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

Mr Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday, on arrival at the facility for inspection, first performed the ‘legshake’ with the state’s commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi.

The ‘legshake’ has become popular since Covid-19 broke out as people are advised to restrict touches.

Mr Sanwo-Olu washed his hands on arrival at the facility.

Mr Hamzat did same on arrival before the governor.

The state government, on Saturday, said it had moved the Italian national who tested positive to coronavirus to the new facility to continue his treatment.

Abayomi said the patient’s condition has improved and would be continuously monitored.

The 44-year-old Italian had attempted to leave the isolation centre in Yaba due to its poor state.
