Veteran actor, Sadiq Daba, has returned to Nigeria after undergoing treatment for prostate cancer in the United Kingdom.

His return was announced by activist, Joe Okei Odumakin via Facebook on Friday.

Quoting Sadiq, Odumakin Okei-Odumakin wrote: It’s soooo good to be back home!! Who else will be there? Who has always been there? Yes, the indefatigable woman of esteem and high standards, sincerity, honesty, love, care, adoration and an Angel……Dr.Joe Odumakin!! I am back stronger, healthier and well….all thanks to the goodwill and kindness of thousands and thousands of Nigerians both home and abroad…. Special mention and lots of love to Soni Irabor, who kick started it all!! I am ever so grateful……..” (sic).

Sadiq left Nigeria for the United Kingdom early on December 3 in the company of his wife, Mobolaji Daba, to treat prostate cancer and leukaemia.

The trip was made possible by generous Nigerians who responded to a campaign launched by Okei Odumakin; broadcaster, Soni Irabor, and journalist Azuka Jebose among others.

Doctors in the UK discovered that the prostate cancer had not spread and the leukaemia was in remission contrary to fears in Nigeria.

The actor, Qed.ng learnt, was treated with hormone therapy and given a new diet regime.

He is expected to undergo regular check-up to monitor the state of his health.
