Rohr praises PSG boss for dealing with ‘latecomer’ Mbappe

Gernot Rohr

Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, has praised Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel for the way he handled World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe.

It would be recalled that the most exciting teenager in the world was dropped from PSG’s starting lineup against Marseille on October 28 simply because he turned up 25 minutes late for a team meeting prior to the clash.

Mbappe arrived late because he was watching the first half of Barcelona’s 5-1 win over bitter rivals Real Madrid.

”The fact that he immediately made the decision on Mbappe, I also see a good omen for Napoli,” said Rohr to Kicker.

”Tuchel had set an example in discipline and the team has accepted and understood.

”Now the team still has to deliver in the Champions League, after all, Tuchel has been brought to Paris mainly because of the Champions League.”

Gernot Rohr’s Super Eagles will take on South Africa in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on November 17 and the German is targeting winning a fourth successive game for the first time since he was appointed the coach of the three-time African champions.
