RRS officials after FRCN driver jumped into Lagos Lagoon

The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) driver who jumped into the Lagos Lagoon on Friday has been identified simply as Mr Oladejo.

He was retired but later engaged on contract.

A source at the Broadcasting House in Ikoyi, Lagos disclosed this on Friday afternoon.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) had earlier reported that the deceased was attached to an assistant director in charge of information communication technology unit of the corporation.

A NAN source said the deceased was newly posted from the FRCN Training School in Shogunle, Lagos to the Broadcasting House in Ikoyi.

He described him as a gentleman.

Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Tunji Disu, told NAN that his men got to the Third Mainland Bridge from where the deceased jumped into the lagoon almost immediately and invited marine police and local divers who recovered the corpse.

“The deceased parked the vehicle he was driving on the Third Mainland Bridge and told other occupants of the vehicle that he wanted to urinate

“The occupants were shocked as he dived into the lagoon,” Disu said.
