Diri’s residence attacked in Bayelsa

Douye Diri

The residence of Bayelsa State Governor-elect, Douye Diri, on Imgbi Road, Amarata, Yenagoa, was attacked on Friday morning by protesters.

Parts of the building and some vehicles in the compound were vandalised during the attack.

The attack occurred moments after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued a certificate of return to Mr Diri in Abuja.

The Supreme Court had on Thursday nullified the election of David Lyon, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on the account of forged certificate presented to INEC by his running mate.
