Remi Tinubu receives Super Falcons in Aso Villa

First lady Remi Tinubu on Monday received the Super Falcons at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The team was knocked out of the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand on August 7 by England.

The Lionesses defeated the Falcons 4-2 on penalties.

Mrs Tinubu praised the team for their gallantry at the tournament.

The first lady last week held a similar meeting with the Nigeria female basketball team, D’Tigress.

Mrs Tinubu, wife of the vice president Nana Shettima, and wife of the Senate President Ekaette Akpabio watched the game between the Falcons and England.

They commended the Super Falcons, saying they were very proud of them.

Speaking to the press on their behalf, Mrs Tinubu said, “We want to say we’re proud of them, firstly. We woke up early to watch the game. Mrs Shettima was the first to get to my office. They played very well, we are proud of them. We gave England a run for their money. We’ll be waiting to receive them.”
