Police release Chocolate City founder, Audu Maikori

Founder of Chocolate City entertainment, Audu Maikori, was on Saturday released from police detention more than 24 hours after his arrest.

His lawyer, Mark Jacobs, told PREMIUM TIMES the 41-year-old was released around 6:30pm.

Maikori was arrested at noon the day before over unverified comments he made about killings in Southern Kaduna.

Chocolate City’s business development manager, Edward Ayide-Israel, also confirmed the release on Twitter.

Rapper and president of Chocolate City, M.I Abaga, said he has spoken with his friend and thanked people for their support.

Nigerians had campaigned for Maikori’s release using the #FreeAudu hashtag.
