Police question husband of NYSC member Stephanie Terungwa found dead in Abuja

NYSC member, Stephanie Se-Ember Terungwa

Police in the Federal Capital Territory have begun questioning Edward Terungwa, husband of the late member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Stephanie Terungwa, over her death.

Terungwa was found dead last week after she was last seen on April 14 at Lokogoma area of Abuja.

According to her uncle, Richard Iorliam, Terungwa and her one-year-old son were abducted after she attended the weekly NYSC community development service exercise. He said the baby was later found. The NYSC confirmed that Terungwa was found dead and defaced.

The Guardian, however, gathered that homicide detectives at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have started probing Terungwa’s husband and two others who last spoke with her.

“Police arrested the husband yesterday night (Saturday) and two others, who last called her number. It does not mean they are guilty. The suspects are with the homicide section of FCT Police Command. Their arrest would aid investigation by detectives,” the source was quoted as saying.

Terungwa, a native of Benue State, studied microbiology at JS Tarka University, Benue.
