The police have advised that Nigerians should get guard dogs to protect them against intruders.
Force spokesperson, Abayomi Shogunle, wrote on Saturday on Twitter.
Mr Abayomi, however, added that police officers are not intruders, and so guard dogs set upon them might be destroyed.
“Get a guard dog today! Guard dogs are good at protecting homes against intruders. NOTE: Police are not intruders, police may destroy a dog set upon them inside your house,” he wrote.
The spokesperson, known for making controversial statements, had in 2018 said that sex in a car in a public place is not a crime if it met some criteria.
