Police dismiss officers caught assaulting Osun woman in viral video

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed the two policemen who assaulted a woman at Odo Ori market, Iwo, Osun State for allegedly violating lockdown order.

The Force stated this in a brief statement uploaded on social media on Friday.

The statement said the officers – Inspector Ikuesan Taiwo and Police Constable Abass Ibrahim – faced an orderly room trial and were found guilty.

“They have been dismissed from the Force. They will be arraigned in court for prosecution,” the statement read.

The officers were arrested on the order of the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, after a video of the incident went viral.
