Police arrest alleged killers of Kogi PDP women leader

Police in Kogi have arrested six persons in connection with the killing of a former women leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Salome Abu.

Mrs Abu was set ablaze on November 18 at her Ochadamu apartment in Ofu Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Kogi police spokesman, William Aya, said on Monday that the suspects were apprehended on Friday.

Mr Aya said the police had begun interrogating the suspects to ascertain their level of culpability in the death of the woman.

He said that the outcome of the investigation would be made public as soon as it was completed.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Sunday directed the police to arrest and prosecute the killers.
