Police on Thursday arraigned a 45-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Godwin Ibeh, over alleged threat to life.

The accused, whose house address was not given, is being tried at an Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court, Ondo State, on a charge of threat to life of Grace Andrew.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Ayodeji Omoyeigha, told the court that the accused had on June 18 at about 10.00a.m, at Lebi Street in Okitipupa, threatened to kill the complainant with a cutlass over a disagreement.

He said that the offence contravened Section 86 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mr Chris Ojuola, granted the accused bail of N100, 000 and a surety in like sum.

Ojuola ruled that the surety, in addition, must present a year tax clearance as part of bail condition.

He adjourned the case until July 27 for further hearing.
