Peter Obi dissociates self from viral Labour Party manifesto

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has distanced himself from a manifesto in circulation, noting it is a draft copy.

The former Anambra State governor announced this on Monday via Twitter.

Mr Obi noted that he would personally release his manifesto when it is ready.

He wrote, “We have not formally released our Manifesto. I will do so personally. It seems an earlier draft copy under review has made its way into the public space. Until I release the approved and final draft, please disregard what is being circulated.”

Meanwhile, Obi will release the document containing his seven-point agenda to the public on Monday.

The director-general of the Labour Party presidential campaign organisation, Doyin Okupe, made this known in a tweet late Sunday.

He stated that the document titled, ‘The Pact with Nigeria’ will highlight the seven governance priorities of Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed.

According to Okupe, the agenda will usher in “our dream of a new Nigeria.”
