ParrotXtra Media Network is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary in grand style with the maiden edition of the Southwest Leadership & Legacy Summit, bringing together top political, royal and media figures in Ibadan.

The highly anticipated event, scheduled for May 5, 2025, at 11 a.m., will hold at the newly launched event centre, The Excellessor, located beside BCOS in Basorun, Ibadan.

It will be hosted by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and will welcome other governors from the Southwest geopolitical zone.

With the theme “Southwest: Critical Issues to Shape the Future”, the summit aims to spark conversations around leadership, development and regional integration.

Traditional rulers expected as Royal Fathers of the Day include the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade (Owoade I), the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I) and the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba (Dr.) Adedokun Abolarin (Aroyinkeye I).

Former Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker and Senator, Monsurat Sunmonu, will serve as the Mother of the Day, while the Director General of the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission, Dr. Seye Oyeleye, will deliver the keynote address.

The strictly-by-invitation summit will also host a rich lineup of dignitaries including former military governor General Oladayo Popoola, media mogul Dele Momodu, AIG Tunji Alapini (rtd), Vivid Imagination’s Godwin Mekwuye, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Professor Ayobami Salami, Barristers Iyiola Oladokun and Akeem Agbaje, among others.

The summit is part of a larger celebration of ParrotXtra Media’s two-decade journey in Nigerian journalism.

The company, a division of ProKonnect Limited established in 2004, is led by Olayinka Agboola, who turns 60 on the same day.

A seasoned journalist, Agboola previously worked with Fame Weekly, ThisDay, Ovation, Sketch and Nigerian Tribune. He also served as Deputy Chief Press Secretary to a former Oyo State governor.

He now heads ParrotXtra’s operations, which include ParrotXtra Glossy Magazine, PMParrot.com and the popular radio show ParrotXtra Hour/Ayekooto, aired every Tuesday at 11 a.m. on Splash 105.5FM.

The anniversary summit is being packaged by Clement Ige’s CEEDEE Resources Company.
