Oyedepo’s prayer saved me when I was ill — Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo

Senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) Biodun Fatoyinbo has said that the prayer of Bishop David Oyedepo saved him when medical science failed.

Fatoyinbo stated this during a speech on Thursday at the international ministers’ conference organised by Oyedepo’s church, the Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners Chapel.

Last November, pictures of Fatoyinbo posted on Instagram by the church ahead of a programme in Manchester, UK sparked concerns from members of the public on social media.

In the photos, he was seen looking frail, with his wife Modele, and other members of the church standing beside him at Old Trafford.

It was alleged that the clergyman suffered stroke earlier in 2022. Notwithstanding, he planted two more international branches in Birmingham and Manchester before the end of 2022.

Fatoyinbo gave his testimony at the ministers’ conference in Ota, Ogun State, confirming he was ill but did not reveal the nature of the illness.

He received the microphone from Bishop David Abioye, Oyedepo’s right-hand man, and said, “The things about papa is that when he speaks, it comes to pass instantly. Last year, I was a little bit ill and against everything, the medical sciences, Papa (Oyedepo) spoke and I am here today.”

He added: ”And I want to give God the glory. I am well today, I used to be a drummer boy in Winners Chapel. Three years ago, I came under Bishop Oyedepo’s covering and my life, ministry have been phenomenal.”

Fatoyinbo noted that COZA, like Living Faith Church Worldwide, now buys property and operates like a franchise where the branches look like the headquarters after he established a mentor-protégé relationship with Oyedepo.

In the past, the clergyman faced allegations of rape and sexual assault.
