Missing Osun coronavirus patient found, returned to isolation centre

Funke Egbemode Osun Information commissioner

The Osun State Government on Saturday says it has found the coronavirus patient who absconded from the Isolation centre in Ejigbo.

Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode, who made this disclosure in a statement this afternoon, said the woman has been returned to the isolation centre.

Mrs Egbemode said that the state government was still in the process of tracing individuals she might have come in contact with.

The commissioner also noted that security within and around the isolation centre has been beefed up.

She assured that the government would continue to enhance measures to prevent further spread of coronavirus in the state.

The woman who absconded from the isolation centre is one of the 127 Ejigbo indigenes who recently returned from Cote d-Ivoire.

Eighteen of the returnees have tested positive for the coronavirus named COVID-19.
