Osinbajo mourns Channels TV State House correspondent

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday received the news of the death of Channels TV State House correspondent, Chukwuma Onuekwusi, with great sadness, the Presidency has announced.

Mr Onuekwusi, 55, died earlier in the day at a private hospital in Abuja.

A statement released in Abuja by Osinbajo’s media aide, Laolu Akande, said the acting president “extends heartfelt condolences to his family, as well as the Channels TV family on the very sad passing.

“He also commiserates with the State House Press Corps over the passage of their professional colleague, who combined high professionalism, wit, dedication and patriotism in his diligent reportage of activities in the Presidential Villa.”

Osinbajo, who is holding forte for stricken President Muhammadu Buhari, the statement concluded, “prays that the Almighty God will comfort his family and all who mourn this exceptional gentleman.”

The late Channels TV State House correspondent is survived by a wife and children.
