Ooni of Ife marries new wife

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has found a third wife in Moronke Shilekunola.

The 44-year-old announced the arrival of his new queen in a series of messages posted on Twitter on Thursday night.

This is his third time at matrimony having previously been married to Olori Adebukola and Olori Wuraola.

The excited monarch, in his Twitter messages, praised his new queen for her beauty, uniqueness, royal qualities and most especially, the fear of God she has.

His words: “I waited patiently upon the Almighty the King of kings, he eventually did it in the midst of many trials.

“Shilekunola, Moronke, Naomi; the greatest arsenal you can apply on this highly revered throne with many rules and regulations in the midst of undiluted tradition, heritage and culture is the ‘Fear Of God In You’, which is the beginning of your wisdom on this throne of Oduduwa.

“You are welcome home my beautiful and adorable queen.”

Palace spokesman, Moses Olafare, also confirmed the marriage in a statement released on Friday.

According to Olafare the marriage rights were done privately in Akure, Ondo State and the new was later received at the Ooni’s palace.

“Her Majesty, Olori Moronke Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi is the new Yeyeluwa Oodua.

“Necessary rites fully performed,” the statement read.

Oba Ogunwusi’s last marriage was to Zaynab Otiti-Obanor, better known as Olori Wuraola.

The marriage, which was contracted in March 2016, lasted for 17 months and was over by August 2017.

The new wife who is said to be in her 20s is an evangelist and also the founder of a ministry in Akure.
