Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has expressed hope that Nigeria will have a female state governor soon.

The 47-year-old movie veteran said this in a chat with pulse.ng while speaking about her role in new movie, 4th Republic.

“It was really, really good working with the Ishaya Bako, and Ben Peever, Linda, Eyinna and Uncle bimbo. It was quite an experience because it portrays our political terrain the way we do politics here in Nigeria.

“And it also speaks to a hope in the future that hopefully, a woman one day will become a governor, not just a deputy as is the norm,” she said.

She also added that her experience running for political office also helped her while filming the movie.

Kate Henshaw born in Cross River State contested for the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party to represent Calabar Municipal/Odukpani Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives in 2014.

She ultimately lost at the party primaries.
