Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for July 14, 2018 election in Ekiti State, Prof. Kolapo Olusola-Eleka, has rejected the Court of Appeal judgement upholding the victory of Governor Kayode Fayemi of All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had on Thursday upheld the ruling of Ekiti Election Tribunal of January 28 which affirmed Fayemi’s victory.

Olusola-Eleka said on Friday that he would take the case up to the Supreme Court.

He said the manner in which the Appeal Court dismissed his appeal showed that “our democracy is endangered.’’

“The judiciary is being gagged and justices are constantly being molested and persecuted,” Olusola-Eleka said.

The PDP candidate called on his suppoters to be calm and that their faith in him would pay off.

“Let us remain prayerful; it is not over until it’s over. I have hope in the judiciary and I strongly believe that in the end, justice will be served,” he said.
